Profile

I studied German and English at the Albert-Ludwig Universität in Freiburg, South Germany unit 'Zwischenprfung' after which I transferred to Manchester University where I graduated in BA (Hons) in Combined Studies - German, English and Linguistics. After completing my PGCE at the University of Leeds I taught German in Secondary and Further Education as well as at the Business School of Management in Bradford.

Since 2001 I have been teaching German in 'Languages for All' (formerly Foreign Language Teaching Unit, FLTU) at the University of Leeds, where I am co-ordinator of the German Discovery modules and module leader for Ab initio to Upper Intermediate level. I design and deliver an intensive 'Language for a Specific purpose' module: Ress – Beginners German in a medical context (Research, evaluation and special studies Project).

I co-lead the curriculum review in LfA with focus on Higher levels in LfA.

Student education

Co-ordinator of the German Discovery modules and module leader for Ab initio to Upper Intermediate level in Languages for All.

'Language for a Specific purpose' (LSP): Ress – Beginners German in a medical context (Research, evaluation and special studies Project for medical Students year 2 and 3).

As part of my scholarship activity I am focusing on Grammar learning via tutorials for self-study.
