Ingrid Sharp to explore revolutionary women
AHRC funding success for theatre project and exhibition on revolutionary women after World War One.
How did the First World War end? A new project funded by the AHRC aims to offer a German perspective on the end of the war. Dr Ingrid Sharp will work with Bent Architect Theatre Company and the Bradford Peace Museum to write a play for performance in the UK and Germany in 2018 and create an exhibition that will challenge some of the assumptions about how peace came about in November 1918.
One thing we will show is that women played a key role in the uprising that started in Kiel and spread across Germany, sweeping away the Kaiser and establishing democracy on German soil.
