How can interculturality, diversity, and inclusion be conceptualised in relation to each other, and operationalised in policy and practice?
Join us for the last Futuring Interculturality event for 2024/25, on ‘Diversity, Inclusion, Interculturality: Intersecting Each Other’, on Tuesday 24th June 2-4 pm, Room Charles Thackrah SR (G.05) (Room details) - and on MS Teams (Join here). Register here to attend (Register to attend).
The event will address the question: “How can interculturality, diversity, and inclusion be conceptualised in relation to each other, and operationalised in policy and practice?”
Dr Jackie Willson (Performance and Cultural Industries) and Dr Laetitia Monbec (Language Centre) will open the discussion, prompting us to reflect on possibilities, criticalities and ideas around the research question.
As the last event of this academic year, we’ll also gather threads and reflect on the other themes discussed in the project so far, which include:
-
Interculturality in unexpected places
-
Issues around belonging
-
Crossing borders
-
Between aspirations and cultural constraints
-
Culture and AI
About the project
In Futuring Interculturality, we want to involve colleagues and students from all key areas of the University. We aim to shape the future of interculturality at Leeds through a virtuous cycle of research, teaching, professional services, PGRs’ and students’ experiences and practices as mutually informing each other. The events in the project are intended to be a working group on visions, criticalities and idea-generation with all those interested in collaborating on the topic. For more on the core ideas behind the project, see here.
