Profile

I started my academic career at Cardiff University, completing my BA in History and Religious Studies (2014) there. I then obtained a MSc in Biblical Studies (2015) from the University of Edinburgh, before returning to Cardiff for my AHRC SWWDTP PhD project, ‘The Development of the Mosaic Narratives in the Hebrew Bible, Jewish Sources, and the Qur’an’ (2021).

During my PhD, I was engaged as a lecturer at Cardiff in the Religious Studies department and teaching across the wider School of History, Archaeology, and Religious Studies, (2019-2022). I then took up a Research position in the History department at Durham University on the AHRC-DfG project, ‘Interreligious Communication In And Between The Latin-Christian And The Arabic-Islamic Sphere: Macro-theories And Micro-settings,’ (2022-2024). On this project, I furthered my interested into Jewish-Muslim and Jewish-Christian relations, looking particualrly at how disease was encounted by all three religious communities. This project has also worked towards building a database of sources that show concrete interactions between these religious communities, and I worked on Jewish legal responsa materials within this.

Research interests

My current research interests remain with the topic of leprosy and the genre of Jewish responsa material.
