Dr Kate Dossett on BBC Witness History

Dr Kate Dossett discusses the impact of A Raisin in the Sun - the first play on Broadway written by a black woman.

A Raisin in the Sun opened on Broadway in 1959 with an almost exclusively black cast and a black director. The playwright, Lorraine Hansberry, based it on her own story.

Dr Kate Dossett (School of History) is interviewed as part of this Witness History programme for the BBC World Service.
