Online launch event: Emotionally Engaged: A Toolkit for your Archival Journey

You are warmly invited to the online launch of Emotionally Engaged: A Toolkit for your Archival Journey.

The toolkit is a collaboratively produced guide designed to support people to look after their emotional wellbeing before, during and after archival encounters. It is the result of a series of workshops and conversations that took place between archive-users, artists, archivists, curators and professional services colleagues as part of the Developing Healthy Engagement project based at the University of Leeds in 2025.

The event will include an introduction to the project and toolkit by the Developing Healthy Engagement team, a chance to ask questions and share responses to the toolkit and a roundtable discussion with artists, archivists, researchers and educators about how we can support others – and ourselves – to recognise and be prepared for strong emotions in archival encounters.

How to attend

The launch will take place online. To reserve a free place please register on the event page. Please also feel free to share this invitation with your networks and colleagues who might be interested.

A preview of the toolkit will be circulated shortly before the event to registered attendees.
