This event will gather together PGRs, ECRs and researchers who have been working on or are interested in Carlo Emilio Gadda, and will offer an interactive and practical discussion board in the field of Gadda studies.
The research day will be divided into two parts: after the individual introductions of participants and the two keynotes, there will be a roundtable, in which we will informally discuss together different aspects of Gadda studies: new approaches, themes, methodologies, possible future networks, impact projects, etc. The invited speakers Dr Cristina Savettieri (Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa), Dr Wehling-Giorgi (Durham University) and Dr Francesco Venturi (University of Oslo/Durham University), as well as Dr Gigliola Sulis and Dr Olivia Santovetti, both from Italian@Leeds, will be taking part in the discussion too.
At the beginning of the event each participant will briefly introduce himself/herself and then during the roundtable, everyone will have the chance to talk more about their researches and bring their contributions to the discussion. Participants will not necessarily be pure ‘gaddisti’, in fact aim to leave the discussion as comparative and interdisciplinary as possible. We have asked participants to suggest topics for discussion, to raise questions on the current trends and state of Gadda studies, and to feel free to ask for feedback on works in progress.
