The Future Of Practical Ethics Conference

IDEA The Ethics Centre at the University of Leeds, is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2025-26
As part of our celebrations we will be holding a major conference on the future of practical ethics.
Invited speakers are Prof. Clare Chambers (Cambridge), Prof. Helen Frowe (Stockholm) and Prof. Elselijn Kingma (KCL) and the conference is sponsored by The Society for Applied Philosophy and the University of Leeds. Themes include:
• AI, data and technology ethics
• ethical issues concerning the arts and heritage
• biomedical ethics
• environmental ethics
• leadership and organisational ethics
• ethical issues concerning love, sex and relationships
• war and peace, and
• the future style and mode of practical ethics teaching and research itself - e.g. how ethics is taught to non-philosophy students and professionals.
