Assisting on a new 'twist'

A recent graduate of the MA Writing for Performance and Publication is assistant director on Leeds Playhouse’s new production of Oliver Twist.

Nicole Joseph, who studied on the programme in 2017-18, is assisting director Amy Leach on a new adaptation of the Dickens novel by award-winning playwright Bryony Lavery.

Since leaving the University, Nicole has worked for Screen Yorkshire and developed her playwriting through Freedom Studios.  She is currently an assistant producer with the Leeds-based community theatre company, Slung Low.

Oliver Twist is a collaboration with Ramps on the Moon, a company that brings together seven major theatres and the UK’s leading disabled company, Graeae.  Ramps on the Moon is committed to putting deaf and disabled artists and audiences at the centre of their work.
