Profile
I am a PhD candidate in sociology of religion, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council via the White Rose College of the Arts and Humanities (WRoCAH). Prior to my PhD at Leeds, I gained a BA (Hons) (First Class) and MA (Distinction) from the University of Exeter. My current research investigates the phenomenon of evangelical Christian purity culture in Britain. I use mixed methods to explore the experiences of women in this context, and the impact it has had on them. In 2022, I undertook a large online survey as part of this research, which reached over 1300 people and generated over 600 responses. Additionally, this data is supplemented with one-to-one interviews with five British women.
