New Leeds Heritage Trails launched

Students on the FOAR2000 module have designed two new heritage trails on the History of Medicine and the First World War and how they shaped Leeds.

The FOAR2000 module encourages students to get involved in academic research and make it accessible to the public. The History of Medicine trail takes in 9 historical sites across Leeds and was researched and written by Jessica Briggs, Jessica Shaw and Rebecca Tinnion who are undergraduate students at the University of Leeds. They were supervised by Laura King, Jamie Stark, Kevin Linch and Tess Hornsby Smith.

Imogen Graham, Zoe Pike, Alice Savage and Holly Smith also undergraduate students on the FOAR2000 module, researched and wrote a trail about what life was like for the people and city of Leeds during the First World War, exploring the hidden history of the city. They were supervised by Jessica Meyer, Laura King and Tess Hornsby Smith. 

Both leaflets were designed by Magpie in collaboration with Leeds City Council and supported by funding from the School of History and the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures.
