French Feminisms 1975 and After
The first of the Women in French 2015 conference books is published.
The four editors of French Feminisms 1975 and After organised the 2015 Women in French UK conference in Leeds that focused on a critical re-evaluation of forty years of feminism in France, celebrating the anniversary of Les Femmes s’entêtent, the iconic Temps modernes special issue devoted to writing and analysis by women.
This is the first of two volumes to be produced by that conference, and looks particularly at feminist theories and writings and the different ways they have been subsequently developed and challenged. As well as analysis of different texts by some of the leading feminist writers and theorists of the 1970s, it presents critical readings of a variety of more recent works by women.
