The London-based Marsyas Trio is formed of graduates of the Royal Academy of Music – Australian flautist Helen Vidovich, Canadian cellist Valerie Welbanks and Belarusian pianist Olga Stezhko.
These fine artists weaving some tremendous sounds around each other. They give this work a terrific performance finding out all of its depth and emotion.
For over a decade, the Marsyas Trio has championed the vast body of repertoire for flute, cello and piano.
Recent concert highlights include performances at Kettle’s Yard, Conway Hall, the Red House Aldeburgh for Britten-Pears Arts and a Northern tour, taking two full-house concerts at Skipton Town Hall and the King’s Hall in Ilkley.
The adventurous programming and the committed playing of the Trio made this a rewarding evening of music making.
The Trio's most recent album ‘In the Theatre of Air’ (NMC Recordings 2018) debuted at number seven on the classical charts. Their next will be released on the Métier | Divine Art Recordings label in 2024.

At the University of Leeds, the Marsyas Trio will present several concerts, lead performance masterclasses, work with LSTwo, perform side-by-side with students, give workshops on writing for the trio, advise students on collaborating and working with the music industry, perform student compositions and share research.
The events will appear on the Ensemble in Residence website when they are announced.
