Success at the Faculty Partnership Awards 2020
This year's awards have recognised the School of English for inspirational teaching, with nominations for student wellbeing and PhD supervision.
The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures Partnership Awards annually honor the talents of our staff and students across several schools and disciplines.
This year, Dr Richard De Ritter (School of English) was commended for ‘Inspirational Teaching’ – defined as harnessing a passion and dedication for a subject to inspire others to be ambitious, enthusiastic and open to developing new ideas.
What sets him apart is his openness and happiness to learn from the ideas of his students, as well as teach them. This effortlessly fosters an encouraging, stimulating and inclusive learning environment. He is clearly passionate about his teaching, encouraging his students to be the same, and his seminars and lectures are always fantastically engaging.
“Richard is a gifted, committed and popular teacher,” adds Dr Fiona Douglas, Director of Student Education.
“We are fortunate indeed to have him as the School's Deputy Director of Student Education – a role in which he excels, supporting students and colleagues alike.”
