Three things historical literature can teach us about the climate crisis
Dr Tess Somervell and Dr David Higgins have authored an article for The Conversation — an independent source of news sourced from the academic and research community.
The piece is inspired by a rise in the number of novels about climate change (cli-fi) being published, and how fiction has helped us to understand large-scale change throughout history.
“Literature can remind us of the need to take responsibility for our own impacts upon the environment,” the article explains.
“The climate crisis cannot be addressed only through technological solutions. It also requires profound cultural shifts.”
