University of Leeds got recognition in corporate social responsibility (CSR) for translation of educational books.
In the 10th anniversary celebration of Cones Books held by the Leeds Unity Business Club on 12 June 2024, which was attended by the Lord Mayor of Leeds and many business leaders, University of Leeds was awarded the certificate in recognition in corporate social responsibility (CSR), particularly for translation of educational books.
University of Leeds is “recognised by CSR-A, the UK's only Accreditation body for social responsibility, for delivering positive action measured against one or more of the CSR-A Four Pillars of environment, workplace, community, and philanthropy”.
The citation of the certificate is: “For assistance with the Cones Children's Educational Books and in particular for Professor Binhua Wang's translation of Cones on the Rails into Mandarin”. The Cones on the Rails books, which have been translated into different languages, is the Winner of the UK Rail Industry Award for Passenger Safety.
