Dr Sara Barker features on BBC Radio 4's In Our Time

Marguerite was the sister of Francis I of France: she was a key member of his court and an accomplished writer and spiritual thinker in her own right, at the height of the French Renaissance.

Dr Barker is a historian of sixteenth and seventeenth-century France with a special interest in how printing contributed to the tensions and violence of the French Reformation and the subsequent French Wars of Religion.
