Success for Leeds Student Television at the 2019 National Student Television Association awards

LSTV won best title sequence and best news and current affairs at the 2019 NaSTA awards and was also highly commended for best animation and the Mars El-Brogy award for multimedia content.

Third-year BA Journalism student, Matt Foster, and first-year BA Film, Photography and Media student, Elena Chaykovskaya, won best title sequence

Second-year BA Journalism student, Emma Jacobs, was one of the winners of best news and current affairs.

Alice Roscoe, who is a second-year BA Film, Photography and Media student, and Matt Deakin, who is a second-year BA Digital Media student, were highly commended for best animation.

Marco Antonio Afonso (second-year BA Digital Media), Will Godley (second-year BA Journalism), Jasmine Altham (first-year BA Film, Photography and Media) and Ethan Bishop (first-year BA Digital Media) were highly commended in the Mars El-Brogy award for multimedia content.

Three other media and communication students were shortlisted in two other award categories: India Garrett (third-year BA Journalism) in the best on-screen talent category, and Ryan Daniels (third-year BA Journalism) and Eimer Fitzgerald (second-year BA Journalism) in the best sports coverage category.

The NaSTA awards are an annual celebration, where the best of student TV throughout the academic year are showcased to students and members of the television industry throughout the UK.
