Chrissie Thwaites

Profile

PhD candidate in sociology of religion, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council via the White Rose College of the Arts and Humanities (WRoCAH).

My research investigates the phenomenon of evangelical Christian purity culture in Britain and its impact on women within this context, based on a large online survey (which reached over 1300 people and generated over 600 responses), supplemented with a small number of interviews.

Prior to my PhD at Leeds, I gained a BA (Hons) (First Class) and MA (Distinction) from the University of Exeter.
