International Hybrid Colloquium Archive, Material, History
The themes of the roundtables were materialities, restitution: re-articulating methodologies, the potential of using objects, archives, and collections in teaching
The International Hybrid Colloquium Archive, Material, History took place on 6 May 2026 as a collaboration between the Faculty of Art and Design of the Institut Tecnologi Bandung (ITB), and the School of Design and the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies (FAHACS), of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures (AHC) at the University of Leeds.
The Colloquium involved researchers, staff and PGR and MA students from or linked to these institutions to discuss key concerns in relation to Archive, Material and History. We were delighted to welcome all the speakers and attendees who joined from far and near including Dr Kahfiati Kahdar, MA. (Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design at ITB) who was one of the speakers in the first panel.
The event was organised by Dr Andrea Thoma (Director of International Activities in the School of Design) in collaboration with the roundtable convenors Dr Kiki Rizky Soetisna Putri and Dr Tyar Ratuannisa from the Faculty of Art and Design at ITB, Dr Dibyadyuti Roy (Director of International Activities in the School of FAHACS) and Dr Jade Halbert (Associate Professor in the School of Design). Dr Yuchan Zhang kindly designed the poster and promotional material, and various staff of the School of Design helped with the coordination of the event.
