Ben Mosley

Profile

I spent 17 years at Leeds Beckett University where I worked mainly in Audio and Acoustics. I have also delivered across a wide range of modules and courses related to Music and Music Technology. I was course Leader for the BSc (Hons) Music Technology, BSc (Hons) Audio Engineering and the MSc Audio and Acoustics courses at various points in my time at Leeds Beckett, having written and developed the latter two courses.

I joined the University of Leeds in Septemebr of 2024 as a Lecturer in Audio Technology on a part time basis. I currently deliver mostly on the BA (Hons) Music and Music Technology course but contribute to a range of modules and project supervision activities. I am on the school Community and Wellbeing team and am also involevd in developing sustainability activities in the school. I also work with the library and widening participation teams.

I am a member of the Audio Engineering Society, the Institue of Acoustics and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I have chaired the AES UK section and the IOA Education Committee and been involved in orgnising and delivering events for both organisations.

Research interests

My research interests are mainly in the pedagogy of music and audio education. I have designed, delivered and written about teaching in areas such as Acoustics, Critical Listening, Well-Being and Environmental Sustainabilty. I have presented this work in a variety of book chapter, conference papers and workshops.
