Profile
I provide day-to-day management and strategic lead for the University's International Concert Series, and maintain a full oversight of the School of Music's broader public programme.
As a member of the University’s Cultural Engagement Steering Group, I'm contributing to centralised campus cultural production, and the development of associated support systems, e.g. Box Office and marketing solutions. Funds secured since 2022, through application to the University's Cultural Institute, have supported Concert Series thematic strands and Festival programming, and the commissioning of School of Music PhD composition, BA Music Management events, and Ensemble in Residence performance.
Through partnership and collaboration, I’ve forged impactful relationships across the Leeds city region spawning opportunities for University of Leeds students to experience education, employability and research impact activities alongside local creative, cultural and technology-based organisations, groups and individuals.
I lead on funding applications / the delivery of capital projects for the School, including: Simons Voss and CCTV (2022-23), Hybrid Lecture Theatres (2022), UKRI World Class Labs Psychology of Music Lab (2020), Clothworkers Foyer (2019), All-Steinway School (2017), Clothworkers Screen (2017), Clothworkers Bar (2015), and the Audrey Burton Green Room (2013).
I have a specific remit for the generation of income through facility hire - driving the ongoing development of School spaces and creation of new services, e.g. hybrid tech, the School of Music is now a first choice for key University events, most recently the Online Learning Summit (2023).
I joined the University in 2006 with extensive knowledge and experience of IT systems development, having followed a career in IT for 14 years. I have since driven the adoption and development of campus IT systems, including: SiSo (2021), TicketSource (2018), EPOSNOW (2015), Livestream (2013), HEIF-funded remote IP-audio recording system (2011), ERA+ / Box of Broadcasts (2009), and the University Online Store (2008).
