Jason Gavin will discuss working for the European Commission and opportunities for interpreters after Brexit. This is a hybrid event.
Jason Gavin, Staff interpreter at the European Commission, will give an insight into the industry and the profession. He will talk about what it is like working for European institutions, and discuss opportunities for interpreters after Brexit. The EU still needs English speaking interpreters and certain languages are currently in high demand.
Staff from the MA Conference Interpreting and Translation Studies course at the University of Leeds will also be available to answer any questions you may have.
We have a range of funding and scholarship opportunities available to support your studies.
After Jason's talk, you'll be able to try our interpreting facilities yourself. Download a calendar reminder using link above if you'd like to attend in person.
