Impact and Engagement
Reaching beyond academia
Our three public-facing research specialisms focus on bringing major benefits to local, national and international partner organisations, as well the wider public. We do this by collaborating on applications of our academics’ outstanding research.
Academic staff collaborate with institutional partners that include faith organisations and religious communities; in representative professional organisations; with health organisations; institutions (especially museums) of science, technology and medicine.
Findings from our innovative research have served as a strategic resource for political leaders, industry and business leaders, consultants, and activists, among others. Specific topics include climate change, healthcare, extinction, dating apps, and LGBTQ+ rights.
To sustain our longer-term impact, we nurture high-quality innovative research in collaboration with external partners to tackle new issues of local, national and global importance.
Below is a list of the impact projects in the three specialist areas of the School.
