Sustainable Fashion CPD Course
Gain an insight into the sustainability challenges facing the fashion industry today and the potential solutions for companies facing these challenges.
Tuesday 23 June 2020
|Location||School of Design, University of Leeds|
This course is designed for anyone involved in fashion, textiles, retail and buying who wishes to develop a clearer understanding of sustainability in the industry and the environmental impact of the different stages of the fashion life cycle.
The structure of the course is designed to provide an overview of the global and CSR challenges for the textile industry and to explore how a brand’s impact is distributed through the lifecycle of their products - from materials through to customer use and disposal. Through this approach, we are able to provide insights into challenges the industry faces throughout the supply chain and start to explore potential solutions and current best practice. We consider the way in which a brand can develop their sustainability strategy and policies, which is becoming of even greater importance as investors, NGOs, media and customers are demanding higher sustainability standards.
Training sessions can be tailored to individual company needs to cover in more detail specific issues such as animal welfare, dye houses and chemical management, microfibres and garment durability.
