Profile
I am a second year doctoral researcher working on British Jewish volunteers in the International Brigades during the Spanish Civil War, 1936-39. I graduated with a BA in History at the University of Essex in 1980 and earned a M.Sc in Politics and Sociology at Birkbeck College in 1989. Following a long career as a secondary school teacher I returned to higher education in 2019 to study an MA in Holocaust Studies at Royal Holloway where I graduated with Distinction in 2021.

British volunteers of Jewish descent and the International Brigades.
The Spanish Civil War.
The British labour-movement in the inter-war period.
The Communist Party of Great Britain 1920-1945.
