Professor Laura King's inaugural lecture now available to watch online

The School was pleased to celebrate Professor Laura King's inaugural lecture, 'History is not ours: Collaboration, expertise, and history making beyond the academy' in December 2025.

This event considered the place of universities in history-making today, reimagining the role of collaboration and thinking about how to resist structures which prioritise the academic and academic knowledge over other forms of expertise. After giving her lecture, Professor King was joined in a round-table discussion with guests Professor Fozia Bora (School of Languages, Societies and Cultures, University of Leeds), Ellie Harrison (artist and director, Polite Rebellion) and Susan Pitter (cultural heritage producer and Director of Out of Many People).

This lecture is now available to watch online for those who were unable to attend the live event. You can find this inaugural and those of other colleagues in the Faculty of AHC on the Leeds Arts and Humanities Resarch Institute website.
