Professor Simon Ball's article on the history of assassination inspires ITN documentary
ITN's new documentary 'Secrets of the Spies' is available to stream from 10 March 2022.
Professor Ball’s article ‘The State and the Assassination Threat in Britain, 1971-1984’ was originally published in The Historical Journal in 2019 (The Historical Journal, 61 (2019), pp. 241-265. ISSN: 0018-246X) and inspired ITN’s new documentary ‘Secrets of the Spies’.
Much of the documentary episode was filmed at the University of Leeds. During the episode, Professor Ball walks the viewer through the history of assassination in modern Britain.
