Artists' Film Club: Images and Affects
- Date: Wednesday 12 April 2017, 18:00 – 19:00
- Location: Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies
- Cost: Free
Images and Affects is a film screening that explores artists’ responses to the production and viewing of images, and in particular considers how we experience images affectively.
The screening frames these forms of bodily feeling in terms of politics – that is how the personal, institutional and structural intersect. Hope is interested in the effect of individual works and in what happens between each video – she is also concerned with what the structure of the programme becomes, in its entirety.
The screening includes work by James Richards, Ramona Metcalfe, Amelia Beavis-Harrison, Rehana Zaman, Claire Hope and further artists.
Hope’s video Contact is currently showing in the Project Space until 12 April (10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday). Contact is part of The Fold series curated by Sam Belinfante. Attendees of tonight’s Artists’ Film Club will have here an opportunity to see Contact in full from 5.30pm.
This event is free. All are welcome and there is no need to book.
