Visiting Artist's Talk - Lindsey Bull

Lindsey Bull (b.1979) is based in Manchester. Her work explores psychological states, reality and illusion through figurative painting.

She was recently selected for Liverpool Biennial Associate Artist Programme 2016-18. Her solo exhibitions include ‘Beauty and Sadness’ at Yellow (Varese, 2015), ‘In Disguise’ at High House Gallery (Oxford, 2013), ‘Darkling’ at Motorcade/FlashParade (Bristol, 2012) and ‘Out of the Cosmic Storm’ at Transition (London 2012). She has exhibited widely in group exhibitions, including ‘Into the woods’ at Villa Contemporanea (Milan), ‘Modern Mythologies’ at The London Contemporary W10 (2015), ‘Ouija’ at Bloc Projects (Sheffield, 2014), ‘L’Heure des Socières’ at Centre d’art Contemprain de Quimper (2014) and ‘Rituals are Tellers of Us’ at Newlyn Art Gallery (Newlyn, 2013). She was shortlisted for the British Contemporary Painting Prize (2016) and was awarded the prestigious Red Mansion Prize (2011) and the Branda Landon Pye Prize (2009). She will be exhibiting in a two-person show at Castlefield Gallery (Manchester) in June.
