Contemporary & Historic Issues in the Art Market ― The Dematerialisation of Art and the Rematerialisation of Value?

Following the auction sale of Banksy’s Girl with a Red Balloon, which sold for £1,042,000 and promptly proceeded to self-destruct, this discussion forum focuses on this latest event in the art market.

The third in our informal occasional seminar series focused on contemporary & historic issues in the art market, organised by the Centre for the Study of the Art & Antiques Market.

These seminars are designed to be very light touch, in a drop-in open conversation format. They are focused on events and issues related to the art market.

The format for the seminar will be open debate, driven by participants themselves. Please bring your own research perspectives and questions to the issue. There is no expertise on the art market required to participate, just an interest in the art market itself.

The seminar is free to attend and all are welcome.
