Young Adult Fiction from Taiwan: Lin Man-Chiu and Helen Wang
Join the Writing Chinese project for a talk and Q&A with YA author Lin Man-Chiu and translator Helen Wang.
Lin Man-Chiu's novel The Ventriloquist's Daughter, translated by Helen Wang, has recently been published to great acclaim by Balestier Press. Man-Chiu and Helen will be talking about their work together, as well as about writing and translating fiction for children and young adults.
We will also be launching our latest Bai Meigui translation competition following the event, as well as a new strand of our project, focused on schools and school bookclubs.
Refreshments will be provided, and there will also be a bookstall from Blackwells Books.
Entry is free, but please register on our Eventbrite page
Lin Man-Chiu is our October Bookclub Author of the Month – find out more about her here and read the preface to The Ventriloquist’s Daughter.
