Dr Richard Brown examines the role of the ekphrastic in contemporary writing and postmodern theory, exploring text-picture connections in selected works by J.G. Ballard, China Miéville and Ali Smith.
The seminar is a collaboration between the Modern and Contemporary Literature Research Group, The Transcultural Fantastic interdisciplinary research grouping and Sadler Seminar Series.
The Transcultural Fantastic series organisers are Ingo Cornils (School of Languages, Cultures and Societies), Sarah Dodd (School of Languages, Cultures and Societies) and Liz Stainforth (School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies).
