Carried Over

Carried Over is an exhibition of student work shaped by a year abroad.

The School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies is proud to present Carried Over  an exhibition showcasing the creative outcomes of students recently returned from international study and exchange or placement programmes.

Over the past year, students immersed themselves in diverse cultural, professional and academic environments across Melbourne, Toronto and California, Budapest, Warsaw and Barcelona. Their experiences – carried over from these global contexts – have informed and transformed their artistic practices, offering fresh perspectives that weave together local and international influences.

Carried Over brings together painting, sculpture, installation, photography and digital work that reflects on movement, adaptation and exchange. The exhibition becomes both a meeting point and a mapping of cultural crossings, highlighting how living, learning and creating in different parts of the world reshapes not only artistic practice but also the way we perceive our own place within it.

This exhibition is both a celebration and a reflection: of ideas carried over from one place to another, of creative growth and of the shared connections that emerge across distance.
