Dr Kiwoong Nam receives Design Research Society Bursary
Design PhD graduate, Dr Kiwoong Nam, has received a Design Research Society Student Bursary.
This highly contested bursary will be used by Dr Nam to continue to collect data for his study into the impact of design for consumers in the food and beverage sector.
Ki Woong’s PhD study starts with the question; how can one justify the investment in design in the service industry? The study resulted in the development of a ‘design value typology’ which enables a better understanding of design value from the customers’ emotional causes.
These findings confirm that there is a positive influence of design upon the efforts for improving design elements in order to enhance the performance of the business.
Our congratulations to Kiwoong for this well-deserved award.
