Light Night at the University of Leeds

Jane Scott and Elizabeth Gaston from the School of Design, will be producing one of the 13 Light Night events and installations taking place across the University of Leeds campus.

This October the University of Leeds invites you to see the campus in a whole new light.

Now in its 12th year, Light Night (6th -7th October) has become a staple in the city’s calendar as Leeds’ biggest free multi-arts event.

This year, Jane Scott and Elizabeth Gaston from the School of Design, will be producing one of the 13 Light Night events and installations taking place across the University of Leeds campus.

On Friday 7th October between 6 – 10pm, they invite you to walk through their patterned, knitted tunnel, which has more to discover than first meets the eye.
Using UV and coloured light torches, as you move through the tunnel, experience perceptual changes to the patterns in the fabric, inspired by Earth and the natural environment.

Their knitted tunnel joins over 50 other artworks which will see the city come alive across this two day event, including spectacular light projections, as well as film, dance, music and much more.
