Fashion Design students exhibit “White Vintage: Mistake” at Fashion in Leeds
This presentation of second year BA Fashion design students work will be on display at the Corn Exchange from Saturday 28th April until Sunday 6th May.
Using garments and patterns from the Yorkshire Fashion Archive students studied their garments and patterns observing fit, construction, silhouette, shape etc. Through careful scrutiny students then considered the concept of mistake by exploring and carefully analysing how garments and patterns could be disrupted through pattern making or manufacturing blunders. This subverted their allocated garments resulting in new, innovative fashion design. All of the student’s journey was documented in their Research and Trend Journals. Students then chose a particular outfit to make up in a white fabric of their choice.
