AHRC funding for Doctoral Research in Music at the University of Leeds
The White Rose College of the Arts and Humanities (WRoCAH) is offering around 50 AHRC PhD studentships for those wishing to begin their PhD studies in October 2018 across Leeds, Sheffield and York, through the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Block Grant Partnerships scheme. The School of Music, University of Leeds therefore invites applications from students intending to pursue either thesis-based studies, or practice-led research where a commentary or smaller thesis supports a portfolio of recorded performances or compositions.
As Sarah Mawby, the current holder of an AHRC award from WRoCAH, confirms, ‘This is a fantastic opportunity; in addition to the annual stipend and full fee coverage, there are also additional avenues of funding which successful applicants can apply for, and the 1-month internship as part of the award was extremely useful.’
Applicants for an AHRC studentship must have applied for and been awarded a PhD place at the School of Music, University of Leeds. The WRoCAH AHRC studentship application form and details of how to apply are only available from the WRoCAH website at http://wrocah.ac.uk/new-student/ahrc-competition/. Applications will be open from 1 November 2017, and the deadline for funding applications is 17.00 GMT on 24 January 2018. Please note that applicants may only apply for funding at one of Leeds, Sheffield or York.
