Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships
A Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship opportunity is now available in the School of Philosophy, Religion and History of Science.
Individual Fellowships (IF) are a great option if you are an experienced researcher looking to give your career a boost by working abroad. Applicants need a doctoral degree or at least four years’ full-time research experience by the time of the call deadline.
The School of Philosophy, Religion and History of Science has a strong track record with this fellowship scheme, hosting seven successful applications in the last five years.
To prepare for a full application to be submitted by 11 September 2019, applicants with successful expressions of interest will receive significant guidance during July-August 2019 using our successful model applications and focused support for grant application development.
Duration and funds
Fellowships may last between 12-24 months, and provide an allowance to cover your living, travel, and family costs.
Eligibility
Applicants must have a PhD or at least four years of full-time research experience by 11 September 2019. Time spent on PhD research counts towards research experience. Fellows need not be EU citizens. To be eligible to apply to hold one of these fellowships at Leeds you also should not have lived or worked in UK for more than 12 months during the three years up to the closing date of the fellowship. For a project to be hosted by the School of Philosophy, Religion and History of Science, the research must be in philosophy, history and philosophy of science, or theology and religious studies.
Deadline
Expressions of interest in having a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship hosted at Leeds should be submitted to Isobel Lister (i.lister@leeds.ac.uk) by 12pm (UK time) on Monday 3 June 2019 with: a statement of eligibility, a detailed CV, and a proposal of no more than 2 pages outlining the following:
- Introduction, state-of-the-art/research context, specific research objectives, and an overview of the proposed research project.
- Research methodology and approach: highlight the type of research/innovation activities proposed.
- Originality and innovative aspects of the research programme: explain the contribution that the action (i.e. the research and/or innovation activities) is expected to make to advancements within your field. Describe any novel concepts, approaches, or methods that will be implemented.
- Interdisciplinary aspects (if relevant).
