Holocaust Memorial Day event

80 years since the Liberation of Auschwitz. A symbolic date. An encounter with private pictures and personal stories.

This event will feature personal family stories that connect University of Leeds staff with the Holocaust. It is not a history lecture but an encounter.

Often these stories are fragmentary, replete with vast gaps which invite imaginative completion.

On the other hand, speaking about the Holocaust is an act of witness which requires utmost commitment to truth in the face of incredulity and denial.
