Georgian Army Officers database launched

The careers of over 50,000 officers who served in the British Army between 1790 and 1820 can now be searched in a new online database.

Dr Kevin Linch explored the personal and professional lives of British Army officers during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars in conversation at the National Army Museum in London.

A workshop run by Drs Kevin Linch and Simon Quinn held on 17 July 2023 gave historians, archivists and family historians exclusive early access to a database of the careers of British Army officers.

PhD researcher granted fellowship with the Army Records Society

They will curate a collection of primary material about the history of the British Army, focusing on the Fencible Regiments of Great Britain and Ireland in the French Revolutionary Wars.
