Dr Kirsten Rathjen

Profile

Originally from Germany, I studied Languages 9Italian & some French) and Communications Studies in Leeds and Rome. I then worked as a journalist in Germany before pursuing a Master's degree in German literature at the Ohio State University in Columbus/ Ohio. In 2011, I completed a doctorate at the University of Leeds in Contemporary German Literature and have been teaching at Leeds ever since, mostly in the area of German-language tuition.   

Research interests

I am currently involved in a scholarship project which aims at better understanding and catering to the specific needs of students from Eastern Asian linguistic backgrounds who study German with us at Leeds.
