The Choral Music of Schubert

The concert forms part of the celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of the Schubert Institute Research Committee and its valuable work maintaining and expanding the Schubert archive in the Brotherton Library.

This programme explores the breadth of Schubert’s choral works including secular and liturgical a cappella settings for mixed chorus, secular choral pieces with piano accompaniment, and pieces for men’s and women’s voices. Amongst the works included in the concert are Salve regina in B flat, D. 386, ‘Gott der Weltschöpfer’, D. 698, ‘Die Allmacht’, D 875a, ‘Bootgesang’, D 835 and the 23rd Psalm, D. 706.
