Profile

I joined the University of Leeds in 2019, after completing my PhD in Media and Communication at City University of Hong Kong in 2018. My research interests include journalism studies, political communication, and digital activism. Primarily, I am interested in the interplay between states, media, and people in and beyond authoritarian and trans-national contexts.

I currently serve as the co-Chair of Political Communication Research Section, International Association of Media and Communication Research (IAMCR). At the School of Media and Communication, I co-founded and co-convene the Media and Civil Resistance reading group.
