The University of Leeds conference 'Rethinking the Medieval Frontier', organised by Jonathan Jarrett and held on 10 April 2018, explored medieval frontiers and borders and was a great success.
IMS involvement in siege weekend at Pontefract Castle
Two IMS PG Researchers and one IMS alumna presented a series of talks at Siege Weekend, held at Pontefract Castle on 28 May 2018, and another IMS PG Researcher designed and organised the event.
Successful Fundraiser for Swim Across America
The IMS and School of History fundraiser for Swim Across America, IMS MA student Stacy Anker's charity of choice, was highly successful and well-attended.

The School of History has been ranked 6th in the Guardian League Table 2019.
Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellow Joins the IMS
Dr Fraser McNair, Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellow, joined the IMS in May 2018 and is working on a project titled 'The Changing Authority of Kings and Bishops: France, c. 900-110'.
