FAHACS to host first international PGR conference & workshop

The School of Fine Art, History of Art & Cultural Studies will host its first international PGR conference & workshop later this month

The School of Fine Art, History of Art & Cultural Studies will host its first international PGR conference & workshop later this month. 

The hybrid conference will be held at the University of Leeds on 30 October 2024.

This event is organised by the Director of International Activities, Director of Postgraduate Research at the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies, with support from two PGR students Solvig Choi and Xiaoling Dai. The School is also excited to invite our colleagues and cohorts from the Program in Visual and Cultural Studies, University of Rochester, USA.

The conference will:

  • Open a dialogue between students at FAHACS and VCS and to offer a platform for the presentation and discussion of recent research;

  • Highlight the significance of projects in the history of art, museological studies, fine art practice, and cultural studies;

  • Engage critically with the existing art and cultural theories and methodology;

  • Formulate new research vistas, approaches and methods in transdisciplinary approaches

  • Share and exchange PGR experience in the UK and USA.
