Selig Brodetsky Memorial Lecture 2017

This year’s Selig Brodetsky Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Prof. Michael Krom on the subject of The Dead Sea: What it is, why it is disappearing… and can we do anything about it disappearing?

The lecture will take place on Tuesday 4 May at 6.00pm in the Rupert Beckett Lecture Theatre, Michael Sadler Building, University of Leeds, LS2 9JT.

This series of annual lectures was established in memory of Selig Brodetsky (1888-1954), who occupied the Chair of Applied Mathematics at the University from 1924 to 1948. Each year, a lecture is delivered that addresses some aspect of Jewish studies and/or science and mathematics.

The Brodetsky lectures are organized by the Centre for Jewish Studies, in collaboration with the School of Philosophy, Religion and History of Science and the School of Mathematics.

All are welcome. For further information about the lecture, please email Dr Eva Frojmovic.
