Join us for the latest talk in the 'Critical researchers into capitalism, its cultures, histories...' series, with speaker Dr Alberto Toscano (Goldsmiths).
Dr Alberto Toscano is Reader in Critical Theory and Co-director of the Centre for Philosophy and Critical Thought in the Department of Sociology at Goldsmiths, University of London.
This event has been organised by Fiona Allen and Luisa Lorenza Corna. It is part of a series of sessions focusing on exploring the cultures of capitalism, organised by Richard Checketts, Gail Day and John Mowitt (School of Fine Art, History of Art & Cultural Studies) which aim to bring together historical, historiographical and theoretical perspectives, with an eye not only to the social formation classically known as ‘capitalism’, but also to its prehistories and its possible ‘post-histories’; to questions of value, capital, processes of capital subsumption; the interdependencies of capital and colonialism; the reshaping of spatial and temporal experience.
