For this week's Visiting Artist's Talk we welcome Fiorella Angelini.
Fiorella Angelini (b. 1990), is a Chilean artist who considers herself a collector of images and moments of serendipity.
Her practice spans installation, photography, and video to explore the issues that affect nature, territory, and memory. She is interested in pushing the boundaries of video and analogue photography, as a component within installation and sculptural pieces. Metals, plastics and natural fibres are the materials used to transform photographs into volumetric elements.
She graduated with a Master in Fine Art Media (2021) at the Slade School of Art, University College London, thanks to the Chilean Government's scholarship BECAS CHILE. In 2012 she achieved a Bachelor’s in Fine Art (BFA) and in 2013 a Pedagogy Degree at Universidad Finis Terrae, Santiago, Chile.
Angelini’s work spans video, photography and installation. She has exhibited in South America, Europe, and Asia. Among her latest exhibitions are Photo London at Somerset House, Slade Summer Shows at The Slade School of Art, London Grads Now at Saatchi Gallery, and Diez at Galería AFA. Angelini was awarded the 2021 Sarabande Emerging Artist Award by Sarabande Foundation, commissioned by TATE Christmas Postcards for TATE 2020, and longlisted for Bloomberg's New Contemporaries 2022/2019.
