Visiting Artist’s Talk – Damien Meade

For this week's Visiting Artist's Talk, we welcome Damien Meade.

Damien Meade is a painter from Ireland who lives and works in London. He makes objects, commonly from clay, which he uses as source material for his paintings.

Recent and forthcoming solo exhibitions include PLUS-ONE Gallery, Antwerp (2022), CAR DRDE in Bologna (2018 and 2022), and Peter von Kant in London (2018).

Recent group exhibitions include Kaleidoscope, Workplace Gallery in London (2022), EX Roma, APT Gallery, London (2021), Lost In Translation, PLUS-ONE Gallery, Antwerp (2021), Gorillas In Our Midst, MONA Museum, Tasmania, Australia (2019), and June Mostra, British School at Rome, Italy, (2018).

Damien completed an MA in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art in 1993. He was awarded the Abbey Fellowship in Painting to the British School at Rome in 2018.

About the Visiting Artists’ Talks series

The Visiting Artist’s Talk (VAT) series hosts talks by an exciting range of arts practitioners from around the world every Monday afternoon 2–4pm during teaching weeks.

All of our talks are compulsory for our Fine Art students but are also open to anyone else who would like to join us.

Directions to the Conference Auditorium building

Facing away from Parkinson steps: Turn right, go straight down the hill to the EC Stoner Building, turn left down a short hill and go under the building. Go straight ahead until you get to Willow Terrace Road, The Edge is in front of you. Turn left, then turn right into the car park, follow the path round to the back of The Edge. The Conference Auditorium Building will now be visible across the car park to the right.
